Description

Looking for a top of the line Cadillac model accepted by the Classic Car Club of America? Check out this lovely 1939 Cadillac Series 75 Convertible Sedan just one of 36 originally built. The Series 75 with its Fleetwood body was Cadillac’s most premier V-8 powered model in 1939. This 346 cubic inch V8 is known for its reliability, reasonable fuel economy and smooth performance. This 135 HP engine was a favored choice in most Cadillacs from 1936 all the way until 1948. This convertible sedan has a limousine setup with its 141-inch long wheelbase. You’ll find seating for five, a roll up glass divider, expansive rear seat space and all the luxury of the day. Exterior: Starting from the front of the exterior of this car you’ll find the chrome bumper and grill to be in decent shape, working sealed beam headlights and added turn signals. Working our way back you’ll find straight and solid body panels repainted in solid Blue (non-original color) we believe in 2003. 7.50 x 16 radial whitewall tires with great thread lift remaining. Original full length running boards in nice shape. Finally, in the rear of the vehicle you’ll once more see a decent conditioned chromed bumper and solid trunk lid. Noted issues on the exterior are non working wipers, driver’s door glass cracked, right side hinge bent, turn signals intermittent inoperable and convertible top canvas and rear window in need of replacement. Finally some blemishes in the paint and chromework. Interior: Moving to the interior of this very nice driver's car, you’ll see the tan leather interior and veneered wood accents are both in good shape. The correct and working heater, original bakelite dash knobs, sunvisors. The vehicle has nicely finished navy blue carpeting throughout. Behind the front seat is an original clock, working roll up glass divider, footrest and comfortable rear seating. Noted issues in the exterior are a non-working speedometer, chip in glass divider, and jumper seats have been removed. Mechanicals: The engine on this comfortable cruiser starts right up and runs very well. The three-speed transmission shifts smoothly and on demand making this car an excellent driver. In addition, an electric fuel pump has been installed although the mechanical fuel pump remains should the new owner wish to switch back.
